Galvalume steel sheet (GL) is carbon steel sheet coated with aluminum-zinc alloy by a continuous hot dip process similar to the galvanizing process. The nominal coating composition is 55% aluminum and 45% zinc.

Galvalume steel sheet (GL) has high alumunium content, 55% of mass and 80% of capacity and shows better thermal resistance than ordinary hot dip galvanized steel sheets. Even when exposed to high temperatures it show neither significant increase of mass due oxidization nor any surface discoloration due to progressive alloying.
